RATES AND INSURANCE
Thank you for considering Alan P. Smith, LCSW for your behavioral health needs.
RATES
Cost per session run $125.00 per hour. Each session can range from 45 minutes up to 60 minutes. Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis.
In addition, Mr. Smith offers a FREE 15-minute consultation via telephone to help answer any concerns you may have in starting your treatment services.
Each clinician accepts different insurance plans. Please check with your insurance provider prior to your first appointment if you choose to utilize your plan for our services. Many people chose not to use insurance for many reasons, please call our office if you have any questions. We are committed to providing you with the best possible care.
INSURANCE
If you have behavioral health insurance, sessions may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan (EAP). We recommend you contact your plan for your benefits and responsibilities. We will also verify your benefits and can assist you in filing a claim on your behalf.
You can check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance company the following:
- Do I have behavioral/mental health insurance benefits/coverage?
- What, if any, is my deductible and has it been met for the year?
- How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover? How many have I used?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session? What amount am I responsible for?
- How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
- Is approval required from my primary care physician? Is an authorization required?

NOTE: By using your insurance you are authorizing release of any information to your insurer. If you chose not to use insurance, our standard rates listed above will apply.
PAYMENT
Cash, checks, PayPal, and most Major credit cards are accepted. All payments and co-payments, if applicable, are due at the time of your appointment.
CANCELLATION POLICY
If you have to cancel your appointment, we kindly ask that you give at least 24 hours notice so we may fill your time with others that may be on our waiting list. If you do not cancel your appointment and fail to show, you will be charged a standard NO SHOW fee of $60.00. Exceptions to this will be considered for severe weather conditions, an unexpected emergency, or if you or your child is ill.
